Academic Writing 1B (Grades 2-3)

Thursdays | 4:00 - 5:30 PM

This course is designed to strengthen the writing skills of 2nd and 3rd graders using figurative language and creative expression. Students learn how to effectively use metaphors and comparisons in their writing, and master essay structure, including introductions, body paragraphs, and conclusions.

This Week’s Highlights:

  • Reviewed key writing techniques.

  • Read a literary piece and responded in writing.

  • Completed a reading and writing assessment.

Assessments are important tools for tracking student progress. They enable teachers to identify areas for improvement, and provide personalized guidance. These assessments also allow parents to gain valuable insights into their child’s learning and support their academic growth. Keep up the fantastic work!

Speech & Debate (Grades 6-12)

Wednesdays | 6:15 PM - 8:15 PM

Students in this advanced course are developing critical thinking and debate skills by analyzing topics, constructing arguments, and developing rebuttals.

This Week’s Debate Topics:

  • Russia-Ukraine Conflict

  • Colonialism & Decolonization

This week, students began with a one-minute impromptu speech to share their initial thoughts on the debate topics. The instructor then provided background knowledge on colonization and decolonization using India as a case study to encourage insightful discussion and critical thinking.

We are continually impressed by the students’ ability to confidently discuss complex global issues in speech & debate!
