Course Description


In our 3-4th grades Social Studies course, students will learn about the fundamentals of American history. From the founding of Jamestown, Plymouth, and the 13 Colonies, students will focus on early American society. They will focus on the movement towards Independence from Great Britain, Westward  Expansion, and the efforts to end slavery in the mid 1800s. They will also learn about the Bill of Rights, the US Constitution, and the progress of the AMerican Republic over time. Finally, they will become familiar with the unique history and geography of the state of California. From the early Spanish conquest, American takeover, and the Gold Rush, students will become familiar with the history of our state.
